Special Needs Registry Available

Neighbor Steve Lozowick offered the following valuable information...thanks Steve! Bradley Beach subscribes to  the Monmouth County Special Needs Registry . It is administered by Det. Greg Panzca of the Bradley Beach PD. When the virus came to Bradley, I received a call from Greg to inquire about my well-being. This kind of activity represents the activity that our PD should be involved in. I want to thank Det. Panzca and the BB PD for taking the time and making the effort it has. If anyone in BB has a special health need such as strokes, heart disease or visual or mobility impairment, I suggest a call to Det. Panzca at the BB PD who can take the information and help protect our residents.

A Welcome from Mayor Gary Engelstad

Hello! I was approached a few days ago by a group of Bradley Beach residents who just wanted to use their gifts and talents to create something that would be an informative and maybe a little fun as well as we all push through this historically difficult time. We are all in good hands with a first-class police department.   I t...

A Post from Our Mayor

A contribution from our Mayor... How New Jersey impacted me a long time ago Gary Engelstad It was early 1984, my wife Stephanie and I were expecting our first child.   We were living in Columbia, Maryland which is in between Washington, where I worked and Baltimore, where she worked. So, naturally we were starting to think of names for our incoming baby.   We are both a little Irish so we are focusing on Irish names.   During a visit to Stephanie’s parents in Ocean Township we casually mentioned to Stephanie’s parents that we were thinking of the name “Brendan” if we had a boy. “No!”, my father-in-law said. “Why not?” was my response.  What could be wrong with the name “Brendan”.“I’m not a fan of Brendan Byrne”, he said, referring to the New Jersey Governor at the time. So, a few months later in late July, our first son Ryan was born. Stephanie’s dad unfortunately passed away much too soon two years later after a heroic fight against pancrea...

Welcome

Greetings Friends and Neighbors, Amigos Y Vecinos! Welcome to a new blog designed to help the Bradley Beach Community as we navigate these difficult times. The COVID-19 Virus has disrupted our lives, obviously. Yet we have no choice but to carry on as best we can. We, as neighbors and friends, need to do everything in our power to help each other and make our borough the safe, friendly, enjoyable community it has always been. We are a small group of neighbors who wanted to do something, anything, to help and thought a blog that provides information, artwork, and other enjoyable tidbits was worth a try. Like many of us these days, we are making this up on the fly, but will try to bring you clear accurate information and answer questions you might have. So check back regularly, we will try our best to provide current content that will either inform or entertain you.
